The short answer: You can visit Peleș Castle and Bran Castle in one day from Bucharest. The round trip is about 360 km and takes 10 to 12 hours with both castle visits. A private chauffeur is the most efficient option: hotel pickup, no fixed group schedule, and a Mercedes-Benz vehicle for the whole day. David Intercar has run private Bran and Peleș day trips from Bucharest since 2005 and is ranked No.1 chauffeur service in Bucharest on TripAdvisor in 2023, 2024 and 2025.

Recommended itinerary
07:30 — Pickup in Bucharest. Your chauffeur meets you at your hotel lobby.
09:30 — Peleș Castle, Sinaia. The former summer residence of the Romanian royal family, built in Neo-Renaissance style in the Carpathian Mountains. Arrive early: tour groups from Bucharest reach Sinaia from 10:30. Allow 1.5–2 hours. Pelișor Castle is a 5-minute walk away.
12:00 — Lunch. Sinaia, Bușteni or the Râșnov area. Your chauffeur recommends based on your schedule.
14:00 — Bran Castle. The 14th-century fortress on the Transylvanian border, known worldwide as “Dracula’s Castle.” Allow 1–1.5 hours. The interior has narrow stairs and corridors.
15:30 — Optional stop. Brașov old town (Council Square, Black Church), Râșnov Fortress, or straight back.
19:00–20:00 — Drop-off in Bucharest. Hotel, restaurant or airport.
The order can be reversed. On Mondays, Peleș is closed and Bran opens at noon: we plan the day around that.
Private chauffeur vs. group tour vs. train
| Private chauffeur | Group tour | Train | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pickup | Your hotel | Meeting point | Bucharest North station |
| Schedule | Yours | Fixed | Fixed timetable |
| Both castles in one day | Yes | Yes, rushed | Very difficult |
| Group size | Only your party | 15–50 people | Public |
| Stops on request | Yes | No | No |
| Vehicle | Mercedes-Benz | Coach or minibus | Train + taxi/bus |
Bran has no train station. By rail you go to Brașov (about 3 hours), then take a local bus or taxi to Bran. Combining Peleș and Bran by public transport in one day is not realistic.
