About David Intercar
What is David Intercar?
David Intercar is a chauffeur company in Bucharest, Romania, operating since 2005. It provides airport transfers from Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP, Otopeni), cars with a driver by the hour or by the day, intercity transfers across Romania, private tours, and transport for companies, delegations and events. The company was founded by Ortansa David, who started with one car and drove clients herself for years before moving on to run the business.
Where is David Intercar based, and how do I contact you?
The office is at 39 Alexandru Constantinescu Street, District 1, Bucharest. You can book by phone or WhatsApp at +40 722 572 702, by phone at +40 21 317 36 16, by e-mail at [email protected], or through the booking form on davidintercar.ro. The legal entity is David Intercar SRL, registered in 2005 (J40/715/2005, VAT number RO17124623).
Do your chauffeurs speak English?
Yes. David Intercar chauffeurs speak English and are used to driving international passengers, business travellers and delegations.
Airport transfers
How much is a private transfer from Otopeni Airport to Bucharest city centre?
A one-way transfer between Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP, Otopeni) and central Bucharest costs €39 in a Skoda Octavia, €47 in a Mercedes E-Class, €65 in a Mercedes S-Class and €70 in a Mercedes V-Class. The price is per car, not per passenger, and does not include VAT. For a Mercedes Vito, a Sprinter or a coach, we send a quote based on the number of passengers and the luggage.
Where will the driver meet me at Bucharest Otopeni Airport?
Your driver waits in the Arrivals hall of Henri Coandă International Airport, on the left-hand side, in front of the Five to Go café, holding a tablet with your name. The driver also contacts you by WhatsApp or SMS, so switch your phone on as soon as you land.
What happens if my flight is delayed?
We track your flight and plan the pickup around the actual landing time, not the time in the booking, so you do not need to tell us about the delay. The first 90 minutes of waiting at the airport are free; after 90 minutes, waiting time is charged.
Can I book a transfer for an early-morning or late-night flight?
Yes. David Intercar works 24/7, including early-morning departures and late-night arrivals at Otopeni Airport.
What details do you need to book an airport pickup?
For an arrival: the date, the flight number, the scheduled landing time, the address you are going to, the number of passengers and suitcases, the lead passenger’s name, and a mobile number with the country code. For a departure to the airport, the pickup time and pickup address replace the flight details. If children are travelling, add their ages.
Do you also pick up at Băneasa Airport and from private flights?
Yes. Besides Henri Coandă International Airport (OTP), we pick up passengers at Bucharest Băneasa Aurel Vlaicu Airport (BBU), including business aviation flights. Transfers from Băneasa are quoted on request.
How is a private transfer different from a taxi or an app such as Uber or Bolt?
With a private transfer, the car, the price and the driver are arranged before you travel. The driver follows your flight, waits for you in the Arrivals hall with your name and helps with the luggage. With a taxi or an app, you find out the car and the fare only when you request the ride, after you land.
Cars and luggage
Which cars do you have, and how many passengers fit in each?
A Skoda Octavia, a Mercedes E-Class or a Mercedes S-Class takes up to 3 passengers. A Mercedes V-Class takes up to 7, a Mercedes Vito up to 8, a Mercedes Sprinter about 17 to 20, and a coach up to 50. For larger groups we combine several vehicles.
Which car should I choose if I have a lot of luggage?
Choose by luggage as well as by seats: a car with three free seats does not always have room for three large suitcases, and the Mercedes S-Class has limited luggage space. Tell us how many large suitcases and cabin bags you have, and we confirm a car they fit in before the booking is final.
Car at disposal, intercity and tours
Can I hire a car with a driver for a few hours or a full day in Bucharest?
Yes. A car with a chauffeur can stay at your disposal from 4 hours up to a full day, for meetings, roadshows or several stops around Bucharest, and you can make as many stops as you need at no extra cost. Book at least 6 hours in advance and send the start time, the approximate end time, the pickup address and the planned stops.
Do you drive from Bucharest to other cities in Romania?
Yes. We drive from Bucharest to any city in Romania, including Brașov, Constanța, Sibiu, Craiova, Ploiești, Pitești, Sinaia, Galați and Târgu Mureș, one-way or return. Intercity transfers are quoted individually, based on the route, the car, the waiting time and any stops. Transfers to neighbouring countries, such as Ruse in Bulgaria, are available on request.
Can I book a private day trip to Peleș Castle, Bran Castle and Brașov?
Yes. We drive private day trips from Bucharest to Peleș Castle in Sinaia, Bran Castle and Brașov, and back the same day. The chauffeur drives, waits and follows your schedule, but is not a licensed tour guide; for a guided visit, book a licensed local guide separately.
Companies, delegations and events
Do you work with companies and business travellers?
Yes. We drive executives and business travellers to the airport, to meetings and to other cities, and the car can wait between meetings. The person who books receives the driver’s name, phone number and car details before each service, and one contact person at David Intercar handles every change to the schedule.
Can you organise transport for a conference, an event or a delegation?
Yes. For events and delegations we plan the transfers from your passenger list: arrivals, departures, hotels and the right vehicle for each group. You send one list and its updates, and one coordinator at David Intercar keeps every car and driver in line with it. Depending on group size and luggage, we use sedans, Mercedes V-Class, Vito and Sprinter vans, and coaches.
Do you drive for embassies and diplomatic delegations?
Yes. We drive for embassies, diplomatic missions and official delegations visiting Romania. Our chauffeurs follow a written code of conduct: they do not discuss passengers, routes or conversations outside the job, and they do not post anything about the people they drive.
Booking, payment and cancellation
How do I book a transfer?
Send the trip details by phone or WhatsApp at +40 722 572 702, by e-mail at [email protected], or through the form on davidintercar.ro. We reply with a quote that states the car, the price and what it includes, and the booking is confirmed in writing. Short-notice requests are possible when a car and driver are free; we check availability before we confirm.
How can I pay?
Private clients pay in advance by card, through a secure Stripe payment link, and the booking is confirmed once the payment arrives. Companies and agencies with agreed payment terms pay by bank transfer against an invoice.
Can I get an invoice for my company?
Yes. We issue an invoice for every service, on your company’s details or on a private person’s name. Send the billing details with the booking.
What is your cancellation policy?
Airport transfers between Otopeni Airport and Bucharest can be cancelled free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup. Intercity transfers, cars at disposal and multi-day bookings can be cancelled free of charge up to 48 hours before. Later cancellations are charged under the terms stated in your booking confirmation.
Can I change my booking after it is confirmed?
Yes. Send us the change, such as a new flight, time, address or number of passengers, and we update the existing booking. Changes of time or route are confirmed once we have checked that the car and driver are available.
Children, pets and rules on board
Do you provide child seats?
Yes. Child seats and booster seats are available on request. Tell us each child’s age when you book, so the right seat is fitted before pickup.
Can I travel with a pet?
Yes, as long as the pet travels in a closed carrier. We do not provide pet carriers.
Is smoking allowed in the car?
No. Smoking is not allowed in any David Intercar vehicle, for passengers or drivers.
How do I make a complaint?
Tell the driver or call us during the service, so the problem can be solved on the spot. If it is not solved, send the complaint in writing within 14 days of the service. We acknowledge every complaint within 14 days and normally reply in full within 28 days.
